Spanien19C ligger for tiden midt i en stor byggeplads som en isoleret enhed.
Byggepladsen som fænomen er både fysisk og økonomisk afhængig af aktiviteten i det omgivende samfund; jo højere aktivitet, jo flere byggepladser og jo større forbrug af ressourcer. Økonomiske strukturer gør at der går et vis tidsrum før økonomisk aktivitet giver sig udslag i et byggeri, og derpå yderligere et tidsrum før et byggeri er modent til nedrivning.
For at sætte dette tidslige og rumlige forhold på spidsen har vi i vores udstilling indført en samtidighed: Når der er fysisk aktivitet i udstillingsrummet og på byggepladsvejen udenfor, igangsætter bevægelsen en nedrivning, ved at vores installation udfører en fysisk destruktion i nedrivningspladsen i inderrummet.
Jo større fysisk aktivitet i byggepladsrummet og i udstillingsrummet, jo mere aktivitet i nedrivningsrummet. Ingen kan sige fri for en medvirken og medgerning i nedrivningen og destruktionen, kroppens blotte tilstedeværelse udløser en nedrivning uafhængigt af individets hensigt.
Disse mekanismer er udenfor enkeltpersoners rækkevidde. Vækstsamfundet synes at generere vækst på større og større livsområder ved en gennemgribende kommercialisering, i en grad at snart den mest uvilkårlige bevægelse gøres til genstand for marked og beregningen af nutidige og fremtidige behov.
Vores installation kan således ses som en slags cyborg, en udvidelse af publikums og byggearbejderes kroppe og maskiner – men også et billede på den viljesløse krop som gøres til genstand for teknisk funktionalitet udenfor menneskelig kontrol.

“The destruction is greater than the creation itself”
Spanien19C is currently located in the middle of a large construction site as an isolated unit.
The building site as a phenomenon is both physically and financially dependent on the activity in the surrounding community; the higher the activity, the more construction sites and the greater the consumption of resources. Economic structures mean that a certain period of time passes before economic activity manifests itself in a building, and then a further period of time before a building is ready for demolition.
In order to highlight this temporal and spatial relationship, we have introduced a simultaneity in our exhibition: When there is physical activity in the exhibition space and on the construction site road outside, the movement initiates a demolition, by our installation carrying out a physical destruction in the demolition site in the inner space.
The greater the physical activity in the construction site room and in the exhibition room, the more activity in the demolition room. No one can say no to complicity and complicity in the demolition and destruction, the mere presence of the body triggers a demolition regardless of the individual’s intention.
These mechanisms are beyond the reach of individuals. The growth society seems to generate growth in larger and larger areas of life by a thoroughgoing commercialization, to such an extent that soon the most arbitrary movement is made the object of the market and the calculation of present and future needs.
Our installation can thus be seen as a kind of cyborg, an extension of the bodies and machines of the audience and construction workers – but also an image of the willless body which is made the object of technical functionality beyond human control.
